Since its establishment in 1997, Mortgage Solutions Australia has seen many changes and much growth.  Founding Managing Director, Tim Bolton, began with a vision to create one of Australia’s leading mortgage advisory organisations built on integrity and honesty.

Mortgage Solutions Australia began in April 1997 as one of Australia’s only independent, fee for service mortgage brokers.  ‘At that time, there were perhaps 2 lenders paying commissions and many commission reliant brokers could only offer these to their clients.  We felt that this didn’t really fully reflect the industry and decided a different tack was needed’. MSA then went head to head with many brokers and many lenders as being one of only a few totally independent mortgage brokers, negotiating exclusive interest rate discounts with lenders before discount packages were common place.

The last few years have seen a mammoth growth in the industry, not only in commission paying lenders, but also interest rate discount packages.  ‘Where once MSA’s packages stood out they started to become increasingly redundant’, says Tim ‘it was time to make a change’.

Today the company offers both commission paying lenders at a ‘no fee’ service and the opportunity for clients to request MSA to look outside these for a fee.  ‘We generally find that with over 25 main lenders, we can often find something that fits the clients profile but the great thing is we can still go outside this.  We still have our contacts that we have fostered for over 8 years’.

MSA has also moved into the commercial loan field specialising in commercial property construction, unit and townhouse developments.  ‘This takes keen negotiating skills, time, patience, and a good knowledge of the industry and how commercial works’ say Tim.  ‘It’s definitely not for the feint hearted’.  He warns, ‘This is where you can be talking millions of dollars resting on the ability to get the job done – finance’.  And, finance is what Mortgage Solutions Australia does best.
